We are planning a world trip in the new 100% electric car, the Nissan Leaf. It is to be launched on the British market in 2011 and has already been named car of the year. We believe that alternative forms of energy must be found now, and hope to raise the profile of Green solutions by sharing our electric car experience with others around the globe. We will only be able to drive a maximum of 100 miles a day between charges, which will give us plenty of time to find out what is happening on the green energy front where we stop over.
Our backgrounds are in international education and we also want to link up with as many schools as possible on our journey. We hope they will follow our progress using our blog, and tell us about their projects for saving the planet. Our aim is to create a network of schools with exciting ideas to provide mutual support and encouragement.
Our planned route so far includes The Netherlands, France, Switzerland, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Kosovo, Bulgaria, Turkey, Iran, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, across the Pacific to North America, Canada and the USA and then back to the UK.
